Every Sunday since 2004, Veterans for Peace set up The Arlington West Memorial, a temporary cemetary by the Santa Monica pier. Each cross is a personal tribute to American personnel fallen in Iraq. The contrast between the beach goers, the pier amusement park and such a soulful place is particularly poignant. Beyond politics, it reminds us that war is not a nintendo game.
