Police State

Jeremy Clarkson writes in the London Times about his harrowing experience in The united states of total paranoia:
It’s known as the land of the free and I’m sure it is if you get up in the morning, go to work in a petrol station, eat nothing but burgers and take your children to little league. But if you step outside the loop, do something a bit zany, you will find that you’re in a police state [more].
A little extreme for effect, yet with some truth. "Freedom" doesn't have the same meaning on this side of the world. As for bureaucratic nonsense, a frog is not qualified to comment.
