Water Content

The Los Angeles Times continues its five-part series on Altered Oceans. This picture was taken in Long Beach. Most of the trash in the L.A. area ends up in the coean. It floats down arteries such as the Los Angeles River, which is reported to carry enough garbage each year to fill the Rose Bowl two stories deep.

After every rain or Summer weekend, our beach in Santa Monica looks like a garbage dump. It's a depressing, hopeless sight.
