It's In Season

Pumpkins are back in town. Hello Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving. Every store, every country road rejoices with their deep, lush, orange color. They've started appearing on people's porches, carved into grinning monsters [click here for a scary version of their faith].
Flu is also de saison. People are sneezing and wheezing all around. As usual in this country where healthcare is more than debatable [see AHA's post on the subject], doctors are already out of flu shots. People are used to self-medicate anyway, especially because so many drugs are available in grocery stores without a prescription. I guess that's why we weren't even surprised when our local store started offering flu shots on certain days. It comes at a premium, but you get a free pumpkin.
