The New York marathon is on this weekend. In L.A., it is held in March, but the training season has already started. Saturdays pour out a gazillion of wannabe runners, gathered in herds that monopolize the ocean boardwalk, in total oblivion of fellow beachgoers. Venturing in their path is almost as risky as crossing a street in Paris.
