The Subway Diet

The fast food chain Subway is positioning itself as a provider of "healthy" junk food, selling big, bland sandwiches as an alternative to burgers. There is even a Subway Diet, invented by a college student who claims that he lost 100 pounds on a daily routine of "a six-inch turkey sub with baked potato chips for lunch, and a 12-inch vegetable sub for dinner." (He's rumored to have dropped a further 285 pounds on the same diet when he started exercising.)
Subways' sandwiches may be "low in fat," but their whopper size and more than debatable contents are guaranteed to bloat and overstuff, besides getting mouth cramps in the swallowing effort. The Germans have a word for this kind of eating: fressen.
