The One Billion Frost

The weather in Europe and on the East Coast may be unusually warm, but in California it is abnormally freezing. "As much as 70% of oranges still on California trees may have been destroyed by record cold temperatures," says the L.A.Times, resulting in over $1 billion of damaged crops. Granted, we're not the worse off in the country, but let's face it: we're not wired for it.
