The Jesus Christ Show

Talk to Jesus on Clear Channel. To his ersatz, that is. "With his tattoos, shaved head and proclivity for dressing in black," as LAWeekly describes him, Neil Saavedra offers counseling with Jesus every Sunday from 6 to 9 am on KFI, the most popular news-talk radio in America. The pitch? "What if Christ were living in Los Angeles and he had his own advice show?" says Saavedra. "If Jesus were on MySpace and I were on MySpace, Jesus would have way more friends. But in my defense, he has had 2,000 years' more marketing." Bottom line? Never underestimate people's gullibility. After all, KFI attracts 1.4 million listeners with hosts such as Rush Limbaugh and Dr. Laura Schlessinger. This says it all. [more]
