The Pacific Wheel on the Santa Monica Pier, the world's first 100% solar powered Ferris wheel, is being auctioned on eBay, writes the SMDP. The news made it worldwide including France. Starting price is $50k. The 12-year old wheel will be replaced by a more contemporary version, with a grand-opening ceremony set for May 22. Let's hope the new wheel will also come with charming gondolas.[update 04/25/08: sold for $132,400]
