We knew about Botox parties. They are also part of the French landscape. But Botox bars? Today's LAT writes that "a San Diego County bar has begun holding a spa night in which patrons can order up a shot of Botox." The concept triggered an outrage in the medical community, so the bar issued this quirky disclaimer: "The doctor will not drink during the visit and will refuse to treat patrons who have had too much to drink. " When is too much too much, and normal no longer the norm -- especially in markets such as Los Angeles and Orange County, where bad Botox jobs can be spotted at almost every street corner? How have we come to reduce what is a risky medical act to a cocktail-hour caprice?
