Yet another earthquake tonight. 20 seconds of "moderate" shaking @ magnitude 5.0. Nothing broken, but enough shaking to rattle our nerves and send the cat fleeing under the bed. UPDATE 10PM: downgraded to 4.7. Still spooky, though. Locals react here and here. And this photo taken in the Hawthorne/Artesia Starbucks is a reminder that even small earthquakes can cause damage: whoever sat in that chair had better drop, cover and hold.Sunday, May 17, 2009
On For Another Shaking
Yet another earthquake tonight. 20 seconds of "moderate" shaking @ magnitude 5.0. Nothing broken, but enough shaking to rattle our nerves and send the cat fleeing under the bed.
