The Venice Canals are arguably one of he most exclusive enclaves on L.A.'s Westside, laden with history and multiple redevelopments. A favorite address for ritzy artists, architects and trustafarians. Yet, in a neighborhood where nothing goes for less than $1 million -- even in today's distressed market -- you still find rundown cottages (shacks really) happily alive and wired to satellite TV.
