Progress Or Regress?

Recently joined an online professional network where you can elect to Dig or Ignore other members for all to see. Why does anyone have to know? Are we regressing to schoolyard dynamics, pointing at friends and foes, bickering in public, and switching teams to set scores? Karl Lagerfeld posted on Twitter: "I'm open to everything. When you start to criticize the times you live in, your time is over." Does maintaining a critical eye on social media, ie. keeping with the evolving trends yet refusing to follow the flock when it doesn't feel right, mean that one's time is over? Or is it simply sanity?
