Do You Speak Anipal?

I used to speak 6 languages: 3 of them fluently; the other 3 like a vache espagnole. But since I moved to the U.S. ten years ago, I am down to 2, though I still read in 4: not enough practice, and everyday communications reduced almost exclusively to English and French. Yet, I have been brushing up on my language skills lately, and through the most unexpected method:

A few weeks ago, we decided to put our kitty on Twitter: for fun, but also as a beta-tester of a medium we are not quite sure what to do with. She turned out to build quite a following with her vignettes of cattitude at the beach, and now has a cabal of Euro-anipals from France, Britain, Holland, Germany, Spain, and Italy. So we are back to 6 languages. Not that it's literature, but the minette's back-and-forth tweets have proven to be a nifty language refresher. Bonus: we have learned a lot about Twitter, about pet care, and about harnessing the power of Twitter for pet causes. The fun goes on...

What a cute idea! Perhaps I should put Gatsby on... I only speak two languages. It's hard enough to keep up my French since leaving France (because, as you know, practically personne speaks it here). But I watch plenty of French films and TV5MONDE to supplement it.
