Route 66 Ends In Our Backyard

As if we didn't already know that we live in a beautiful, mythical place: The Santa Monica Pier will officially become the western end of historic Route 66 today, with events galore -- starting with TV helicopters hovering over our house at 6AM. Local paper SMDP recalls the rich history of the Pier and da Route.
