It's The Packaging, Stupid

How to get Americans to eat healthy food? Package, and promote it like junk food, says the NYT. That's exactly what farmers eager to sell their veggie fare are doing. "The campaign is aimed at kids and young adults and even includes the installation of some carrot vending machines in schools," writes the NYT, in a fascinating article on America's food culture, and the sad prevalence and effectiveness of malbouffe branding.
