Surfin' Music

Remember Pulp Fiction's title song? Signed by Dick Dale. Dale and heir apparent Agent Orange were last night's line-up for the Twilight Dance concerts at the Santa Monica Pier.
Dale invented surf music in the 1950s, and was given the title 'King of the Surf Guitar" by his fellow surfers. He is known for his wicked guitar sound, which influenced the likes of Jimmy Hendricks, Van Halen, and the surf craze of the 1960s with the Beach Boys. Then came a second wave, comprised of a full contingent of punk-surf bands including SoCal's Agent Orange. [more]

Dale can't sing, but he sure knows how to play his guitar! Another evening of great music -- with surfer crowd and salty breeze.
