Titanesque

When France's richest man, LVMH chairman and renowned art collector Bernard Arnault invites maestro Frank Gehry to design his new Louis Vuitton Foundation for Creation in Paris, it's bound to make creative sparkles. Parisist is on the case, reporting on recent press coverage.
Arnault and fellow tycoon François Pinault (of the Pinault Printemps Redoute group) have been levelling their egos for years, both in the business and in the art worlds. Pinault won the legacy race when he recently opened his Palazzo Grassi collection to the public in Venice (this after a failed attempt to host it in Paris -- another collateral damage of French bureaucracy). So it's only natural that Arnault would commission L.A.- based Gehry for his own museum. No doubt this Guerre des Titans will continue to produce mega-deals and exceptional art venues.
