Neon End

Ending the year at MONA. The Museum of Neon Art is to "move" to a new location yet to be found. The real story is that the museum is lacking the necessary funds to stay in its present Downtown locale.
Neon art forms an integral part of L.A.'s history. Plenty has been written on the unique lighting of the city -- its tarting up, as some would say -- which later would be taken to another dimension in Las Vegas. As Raymond Chandler wrote, "There ought to be a monument to the man who invented neon lights." MONA is a monument to, and curator of the genre, mixing vintage with new work. It would be a great shame to see it go. [related]
