Another Gehry Twist

"Twisted mind?" asks Desert Living about Gehry's project for the Lou Ruvo Brain Institute in Vegas, which broke ground a few weeks ago.
"The design with its stacked block entry rollercoaster anterior, inspires equally animated admirers and detractors," writes the magazine, "the latter concerned about potentially disorienting effects on the Institute's particular clientele." The institute is indeed "dedicated to the conquest of memory disorders, dementia and neurodegenerative diseases."

"Others, however, see a metaphor in the dueling forms, a representation of the healthy mind versus one that's impaired." Who's healthy and who's impaired here? Truly twisted.

More on the project in Archi-Tech and Architectural Record.
