Containers As Skyscrapers

Container architecture is all the rage, popping up everywhere as designer homes, coffee shops, art venues, shanty malls, and more. But German architect Lars Behrendt has taken the concept further, and higher, with his Lotto Turm in Stuttgart.

A seemingly hazardous stack of 55 shipping containers, Behrendt's proposed mixed-use tower takes its name from the sphere at the top which will announce lottery results. Other interesting features include terraces and balconies with rich landscaping, a swimming pool with sunning deck plus, Willkommen in Deutschland, live/work space for local prostitutes.
