What a glorious day! After weeks of mood-altering June gloom, this Sunday started/ended with de saison warm, blue skies. Might as well: L.A. was celebrating Summer all around town -- including in Santa Monica, with the Summer SOULstice festival on Main Street.The street was packed with a fun, eclectic crowd of locals, bums, and tourists -- from rednecks to rastafarians; kids to seniors; whites to blacks. All rejoicing in the weather and awesome music, with bands ranging from ingenue to punk rock and everything in between. Special kudos to Southbound's fantastic blues-rock Allman Bros tribute, and Dr. Wu's Steely Dan tribute. A glorious day indeed.
