Back To Arlington West

The Arlington West memorial was up today, like every Sunday. A recent headline in the L.A. Times questioned whether the memorial would continue, arguing that the organizers didn't expect the war to go on for so long. Hello?
Today's set-up included: 11 coffins for each American serviceman who died in the past week, 2,876 crosses for the total death toll, and the following sign: "If we were to acknowledge the 655,000 Iraqis deaths, the crosses would fill this entire beach."
Conversation overheard nearby between an overly large American tourist and his pre-teen son: "Dad, what's that? It's people protesting against the war. Why? Because they want to destroy America. Why? It's the same people who attacked us on 9/11."
