Going up PCH yesterday, I drove into a gruesome scene: the Santa Ana winds that brought an unusually warm weather, also prompted a fire which destroyed multi-million dollar beach homes, as well as acres of Malibu Bluffs State Park. The L.A. Times has the story. Apparently, "only" four homes were destroyed, but to think that beach owners' chief preoccupation of late had been the rise in ocean levels and the subsequent flooding risks...rageant, to say the least.
