A Study In Contrasts

In California, hot and dry conditions stir drought concerns, writes the WSJ, "The past two days have felt like summer in California, as unseasonable warmth sweeps the state." Meanwhile, the AP reports that Blowing snow and frigid temperatures assail nation, "Arctic air extended its grip Wednesday with below-zero temperatures stretching from Montana to northern New England and frost nipping the Gulf Coast." We might get thirsty soon, but they sure are cold.
